Greek is the new cool!
Greece (PRWEB) December 17, 2014
Greece has been all over the news lately as a result of the financial crisis and its struggles for reform and revival. Largely portrayed in an overwhelmingly negative and biased way, this has deepened the rift between the country and the outside world. At the same time though, and beyond the everyday coverage of political and economic developments, the country’s cultural production is booming, commanding an attention so rarely paid, yet so truly deserved.
Founded only a few months ago, The Greek Foundation is an organization for Greek culture in a global world that aims to fill the gap between the perception of Greece and the creative reality. It acts as a platform for the exchange and diffusion of Greek culture worldwide by promoting cultural production through all forms of creative expression, connecting artists to the world and providing new visionary perspectives. It aims, through all its activities, to explore and redefine the Greekness of things and be a global destination for Greek culture.
The organization launched its brand new and visually compelling website, http://www.thegreekfoundation.com, which - along with its entire visual identity - was designed by the award-winning Beetroot design group. It features the crème de la crème of contemporary Greek cultural works, from Art and Architecture to Gastronomy and Fashion, creating a unique destination for Greek culture online. In other words, The Greek Foundation is here to remind us that, even in tough times, creativity thrives!
Its contributors include award-winning architectural and design practices, internationally renowned fashion designers, fascinating artists, and inspiring creators in a wide range of fields; the ever-growing list includes: Beetroot, Nikiforidis-Cuomo, Michael Anastassiades, CtrlZak, Sophia Kokosalaki, Mary Katrantzou, Yiorgis Yerolimbos, MOB architects, StudioLav, Petros Koublis, K-Studio, Funky Gourmet, Kalos&Klio, Cleon Peterson, MNP Design, Tense Architecture, Bill Gekas, Athanasios Babalis, Afriditi Krassa, Yiorgos Kordakis, INO, Zeus&Dione, and many, many more..
Complementing its first phase, The Greek Foundation will soon launch more activities that include publications, global events, and other. And we are all waiting to see more, because as they often say: Greek is cool!
