There are more than just Christmas celebrations at property inventory software company InventoryBase this month as it launches it’s biggest ever update. Derived as a direct result from user feedback, the new improvements affect every part of the software.

Moving into the new year with such an improved version of InventoryBase is truly exciting. January can be a busy time for inventory clerks and it’s a great feeling knowing that something we’ve created can make their working lives easier.

There are more than just Christmas celebrations at property inventory software company InventoryBase this month as it launches it’s biggest ever update. Derived as a direct result from user feedback, the new improvements affect every part of the software.

InventoryBase is designed to make creating, recalling and comparing property inventories on the move effortless. A complete solution, the software allows the user to create detailed inventories including photos, in seconds. It also provides a booking system for clients and estate agents, assigns tasks to team members and produces reports that are fully customisable to include logos and any specific legal information.

The update takes all of the current functions of the software and makes them easier to use.

Managing director and creator of InventoryBase, Steve Rad said “This is all about the customers. We’ve been overwhelmed with the success of InventoryBase since its launch. The software is quickly emerging as the market leading online report editor and template builder. Because of this we wanted to make sure it stays that way. Our customers are fantastic and constantly provide us with ideas and tweaks that help them work faster. So we listened and spent the last 6 months improving everything.”

He continued: “It's faster, more robust reporting with a variety of options. You can now tick or toggle your way through periodic inspection reports or answer Yes or No to a series of predefined questions. It’s all about speed!
And the new possibilities are limitless – the new templates will open up the doors to a variety of new industries such as commercial, industrial and property management oriented companies. The way this project has grown and expanded still blows my mind and it’s about to go to the next level!”    

The redesign has numerous usability improvements including a brand new interface and improved functionality. Almost every aspect of the app has been upgraded, tidied and made slicker to improve the overall user experience.

Specific areas improved include a mouse-less reporting system, no more scrolling thanks to automatically expandable text boxes, progress bars and numbered items allow easier completion of reports, and a brand new checklist system.

Notes:

The new update makes the whole experience slicker in numerous ways including:

No more mouse. Users can type up an entire report using just their keyboard. Tabbing their way through each room and item.

Redesigned layout. Descriptions and conditions now line up side by side for indenting and line breaking notes together between each field.

No more scrolling. Text boxes now grow and shrink with the text entered into them, so customers don't have to scroll inside descriptions or conditions to see the full text. Nor do they have to scroll their way up and down through a long report.

Indicators of interest. Users can now easily glance at how many photos have been added to an item. Helpful progress bars tell them how far through the report they are. Rooms and items are now numbered and referenced the same as on the final report. No more needing to click buttons or keep switching to Preview.

Visible Actions, always. Actions are now right there alongside the condition of the item you see on the final report for detailed rooms.

Checklists, anywhere. We're phasing out the current Checklist system. Instead, users just add Checklists to their Templates, or right there in the App on-site... No more limiting checklists based on the type of inspection.

Quickly toggle conditions. In addition to Checklists, users can also create customised toggle lists of pre-defined conditions, with the default being Clean, Undamaged and Working, tapping on each to answer Yes, No or NA through each item/room/section of the property.

Better Drag'n'drop! Re-order rooms and items all on the same page. No more switching back and forth.

Default conditions in your Templates. Users can store default condition text right in their templates so they can spend even less time entering repetitive text on-site.
