Woodbridge, VA (PRWEB) December 30, 2013
Belvoir Federal Credit Union was notified of the Target Compromise on December 18, 2013, where purchases using all major debit and credit cards from any U.S. Target store (not online) between November 27th and December 15th may have been compromised. In response to the news of a compromise, Belvoir Federal took action to inform members and notify them of their response to the situation.
Belvoir Federal released an email to those members affected by the compromise along with a reminder email to take action, posted a static message on their Web site’s home page to inform inquiring members of any updates, and continues to respond to member inquiries related to the compromise.
Belvoir Federal reminded members of the “zero liability” policy that protects them against unauthorized purchases and asked members to be diligent in monitoring their account transactions so they can notify the credit union should they see possible fraudulent activity.
Belvoir Federal continues to monitor the situation and has increased their fraud monitoring on all affected cards. Belvoir Federal is contacting all members whose cards were affected and working with them so they are not inconvenienced during the holiday travel and shopping season.
