Fast-growing startup purchases assets of veteran online photo site

MailPix, the photo-printing and gifting site, has acquired Winkflash, a 12-year-old photo-printing site based in Attleboro, MA. Terms weren't disclosed.

"The MailPix team is happy to continue service to Winkflash customers,” says Fred H. Lerner, CEO and founder, MailPix. "We know they'll be delighted with the MailPix array of choices, including ship-to-home, ship-to-retail and mobile printing and gifting for Android and iOS platforms."

Lerner notes the recent news of industry leaders Shutterfly and Snapfish by HP seeking buyers is continued evidence of on-going consolidation of the online photo personalization and printing market.

“MailPix is well-positioned to continue its accelerated growth path, through both acquisitions and organic expansion via mobile and technical innovation,” he says. "Our executive team is prepared to act swiftly on appropriate opportunities."
