The Bouqs Company Announces New Board and Team, An All-new User Experience, and Development Deal

The Bouqs Company, an online flower delivery platform led by Founder & CEO John Tabis, has grown their LA-based team 3X and enhanced their platform in a move that is propelling the company to the forefront of the flower industry. These latest developments have put Bouqs.com in the spotlight, leading to a deal with Trium Entertainment to develop a TV Series documenting the Founders’ global search for high quality, eco-friendly flowers.

The Bouqs Company’s Board of Directors, including Mr. Tabis, Co-Founder Juan Pablo Montufar, and Paul Ferris of Azure Capital Partners, welcomed Mich Mathews and Deborah Benton in January. Ms. Mathews, former CMO of Microsoft, brings extensive marketing, brand and leadership experience to the Board, while Ms. Benton, Partner at consumer-focused private equity fund Breakwater, will lend operational expertise developed as COO of several successful startups as well as 4 years of floral experience as EVP of Operations at Teleflora.

The company also tripled the team in under 5 months. Key hires include Christine Elfalan, who most recently served as Director of Product at eHarmony, and marketer Christie Kim, who joins the team from Hautelook. David Plafchan, formerly of Deutsch LA, joins to lead the Creative department, while early employee Leonard Lin rounds out the leadership team in Tech & Operations.

The company has also entered into a development agreement with Eric Day and Mark Koops (The Biggest Loser, Masterchef) of Trium Entertainment to develop an original unscripted TV series chronicling the growth and operations of the company’s international network of responsible flower farms. The show will follow the Founders, who are close friends from their college years, as they search the globe for top quality, responsible blooms to delight clients across the country.
