TITAN’s robust construction, ease of use and the ability to get on the air quickly were key factors in selection.

International Datacasting Corporation (TSX: IDC), a technology provider for the world’s premiere broadcasters, is pleased to announce that Venezuela’s leading broadcaster, Telesur, has selected IDC’s TITAN™ video contribution solution to expand its satellite news gathering (SNG) network across Latin America with technical assistance from our partner in México, GRIMSAT.

“The TITAN encoder and HMR decoder are perfectly suited to the challenging environments where our SNG systems are deployed,” said Aissa García, Director of Telesur México. “TITAN’s robust construction, ease of use and the ability to get on the air quickly were key factors in our selection of the TITAN video contribution solution.”

The TITAN encoder provides the perfect balance of high video quality and best-in-class usability for demanding outside broadcast applications. The TITAN encoder family provides solutions for standard and high definition encoding in MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. Certain models feature extremely low latency of 150ms and 4:2:2 10-bit encoding in high definition.

The TITAN encoder design is based on more than a decade of IDC experience serving the outside broadcast industry. TITAN encoders are built from the ground up for the demanding conditions of outside broadcasting, featuring rugged construction to achieve superior reliability. The TITAN encoder retains the familiar, easy to use front panel which allows quick setup for mission critical operations, and is able to achieve signal on-air from power up in less than 60 seconds.

“IDC is delighted to add Telesur to our growing list of TITAN customers,” said Doug Lowther, President and CEO of IDC. “IDC is committed to providing industry-leading solutions that enable broadcasters to capture and transmit the highest quality images.”
