This January, TRIC Tools, Inc. participated in the annual Underground Construction Technology (UCT) Conference in Houston, TX, January 27th through January 29th. The UCT Show was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida De Las Americas, Houston, TX. The event was from Tuesday, January 27th through Thursday, January 29th.
Michael Lien, Director of Operations, and Jay, Trenchless Pipe Bursting Sales Executive represented TRIC Tools at the event. Both Mr. Lien and Mr. Battin attended the International Pipe Bursting Association (IPBA) meeting on Monday afternoon, prior to the start of the Conference. At the meeting, the IPBA Mike Woodcock assumed the Chairman of IPBA and Matt Timberlake, who has spearheaded the revival of the IPBA, assumed the Vice Chair. The IPBA welcomed Alan Ambler of Castleberry, FL who became Treasurer and Governmental Committee Chair. Mr. Lien and Mr. Battin attended all of the Pipe Bursting Seminars to get a better understanding of the how different issues affect both homeowners and municipalities. TRIC showcased its X30 Pipe Bursting Unit in the Rehab Zone with live bursting demos. "We really enjoyed the event; we had a chance to speak to people from all over the world and discuss pipe bursting activities with our Dealer in South America," remarked Mr. Lien. Two international civil engineering students from the University of Houston came through the Rehab Zone who shared their experiences in the US compared to perceptions in their home countries (Iraq and Bangladesh) about the US. Next year's UCT show will be held in Atlanta, GA and more information can be found at uctonline.com.
The 'X' Series Pipe Bursting System combines a compact size and while harnessing enough power to split 1" through 6" laterals in an attractive package. "The X30 is a great package for anyone replacing waterlines, drainlines, gas lines, 4" and 6” sewer replacements, and if I was starting a company this is the one tool I'd want on my truck," said TRIC's Director of Marketing and Training, John Rafferty. In 1997, TRIC's cable pulling ram launched the Lateral Pipe Bursting industry. TRIC's equipment replaces underground pipelines with polyethylene pipe.
TRIC invented and patented the first practical Lateral Pipe Bursting System while simultaneously gaining national approval of HDPE pipe for its use, thus opening the market for trenchless home sewer replacement in America. TRIC has since added municipal cable pulling systems to its arsenal, always employing their formula of modular portability, including pneumatic and steel splitting heads designed to replace various pipe sizes from 1/2" to 12" diameter.
