Burien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was honored by North American Health Care, Inc. with the Facility of the Year award. This award was earned for performance in four key areas: Outstanding quality of care / satisfaction, census development, employee satisfaction and community involvement.

Administrator Lynda Baldwin was invited to attend the awards banquet held in Dana Point, California on February 3, 2015. “I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of our team at Burien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center,” says Baldwin. “Every employee deserves the credit for making our facility a great place to live and work.”

Burien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center holds high standards in the four categories by which the award was achieved. When asked what they do differently than other facilities in terms of quality customer care, their response focused on a “commitment to communication.” Once a patient is admitted into their facility, family members are provided with personal cell-phone numbers to reach their Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing and the Administrator. Burien believes that pre-admission, in-house, and post-discharge communication is key to ensuring patients are able to recover to their fullest capacity.

Other important pillars of success for Burien include establishing community relationships and ensuring that patient loyalty will be achieved by providing great customer service. Like most successful companies, Burien also believes that employees should be treated as well as the patients served there, and that “creating a caring and compassionate atmosphere starts within.” Going above and beyond the care that is provided in-house at Burien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the administration team believes it is also important to advocate for rights for the senior community, the disabled community and the LGBT community. Staff members are encouraged to be involved in local community organizations they are passionate about. By strengthening community relationships Burien has also been able to offer classes about nutrition and health, benefitting all community members as a whole.

Burien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a 5-star facility rated by the Center of Medicare Services. Located 10 minutes from downtown Seattle, Burien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center offers 24 hour skilled nursing and rehabilitation to individuals seeking short-term post hospital rehabilitation and long term skilled care.
