The New York Venture Capital Association, the premier trade association for the venture capital community, announced a new, one-year partnership with the law firm McCarter & English, LLP today.
“We’re excited to be teaming up with McCarter & English to work with the members of the NYVCA and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem in the greater New York region,” said Robert Johnston, executive director of the New York Venture Capital Association (NYVCA). The partnership will include collaboration around events, thought leadership and industry initiatives throughout the year. In addition, David Sorin, head of McCarter’s Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Companies practice, will become a member of the Board of the NYVCA.
“McCarter is looking forward to building upon our strong base in the technology community by working closely with the NYVCA and continuing to promote the unprecedented entrepreneurial innovation taking place in New York,” said David Sorin. “The role of entrepreneurship in fueling growth, adding jobs and building communities is vital in today’s economy,” Sorin further noted.
Among other initiatives, McCarter will actively support the NYVCA’s noted VC and Founder Dinner Series and INGENUITY 2015, the popular technology conference hosted by the NYVCA. These sponsorships are part of McCarter’s ongoing commitment to entrepreneurial companies in the region.
