Tomorrow, March 7, Envision Experience and Gen*Z will present the High School Career Summit 2015, designed to help metro area students chart a clear course toward their future. More than two hundred students are expected to gather, to network with over fifty industry leaders from the area’s hottest companies and growth industries. The impressive line-up of guest advisors, including representatives from CNN, T. Rowe Price, Discovery Channel and the U.S. Senate, will help attendees understand the opportunities and challenges of each field, and teach practical tactics for achieving success.

Taking place from 9:30am to 4:00pm at American University’s Kogod School of Business, this is the first event of its kind for the region, providing a diverse high school audience with insight, strategies and career trajectories in eight promising fields, ranging from Entertainment to Engineering.

“Over the last decade, the level of career-focused intensity has risen dramatically among Envision program attendees, and interests have expanded from traditional fields – such as Medicine – to include emerging opportunities in areas like Digital Media and Technology,” said Andrew Potter, chief education officer of Envision. “A one-day, multi-field Career Summit enables students to cover a lot of ground in a short time, and leave the program with the genesis of an action plan for achieving their dreams.”

Both Envision and Gen*Z have extensive experience hosting visionary educational events. Envision’s broad selection of career and leadership programs help students from elementary to college level develop the skills and experience needed to succeed in today’s competitive environment. Gen*Z events pair students with industry leaders for focused career advice. The Summit sprung from natural synergy in the companies’ joint passion for empowering tomorrow’s leaders through career exploration.

“The greater opportunity afforded U.S. teens actually makes career selection more difficult,” Potter continued. “In fact, ten years from now, many Summit attendees may be working in careers that don’t currently exist. Events like this help teens make advised, fulfilling decisions, to guide their planning over the next critical years, on the path to their future.”

Tuition for the High School Career Summit 2015 is $229. Although enrollment is currently near capacity, event hosts will endeavor to accommodate unenrolled hopefuls who arrive prior to 9:30am. Parking is provided at no cost.
