Old Saybrook, CT (PRWEB) March 10, 2015
Drs. James McAraw, I.L. Cantner, Matthew Cantner, Craig Foisie and Jonah Barasz are celebrating 35 year of placing dental implants at their office locations in Old Saybrook, Waterford and Madison, CT. Their office was one of the first practices in Connecticut to offer implants, which serve as permanent tooth replacements.
Many patients choose dental implants for their convincing look and feel, but implants are typically recommended for their other benefits. Implants prevent the bone density loss that normally follows tooth loss, since implants stimulate the alveolar bone, signaling it to continue maintaining itself. Implants also help stabilize the positioning of abutting teeth, which might otherwise move into the gaps left by missing teeth. The placement of implants causes no harm to healthy teeth or the underlying alveolar bone. Implants never require resizing, since they integrate permanently into the alveolar bone over time. The risk of dietary issues, including malnutrition, is also reduced, since implants support a full and healthy diet.
Drs. McAraw, Cantner, Cantner, Foisie and Barasz have placed tens of thousands of dental implants over 35 years, and can evaluate whether a patient is a good candidate for them. The doctors consider each patient’s oral and overall health to determine whether the patient has low bone density, problematically located nerves and sinuses or general health issues that may make the implant procedure less likely to succeed. Patients who are eligible for the procedure may receive their implants in a single follow-up appointment and resume activities the following day. Within one to six months of the placement procedure, the implants will integrate with the bone and be completely functional.
Drs. McAraw, Cantner, Cantner, Foisie and Barasz encourage patients who are interested in replacing their missing teeth with dental implants to schedule their consultations with them. Patients are encouraged to visit the doctors’ website at http://www.rivervalleyperio.com or call one of their three office locations.
