Timothy A. Kolaya, an associate in the Miami Litigation Practice Group of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been named Advisory Council Chair of the National Parkinson Foundation’s (NPF) South Florida Chapter.

Kolaya, an associate in the Miami Litigation Practice Group of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been named Advisory Council Chair of the National Parkinson Foundation’s (NPF) South Florida Chapter. Kolaya has served on the NPF South Florida Advisory Council since 2013.

“When my father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, it seemed only natural for me to get involved with the National Parkinson Foundation,” Kolaya said. “I look forward to continuing to raise funds and awareness to battle this debilitating disease.”

At Greenberg Traurig, Kolaya focuses his practice on commercial litigation in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration panels, with a primary focus on construction and real estate matters.

Kolaya is involved in a multitude of professional and community organizations including: Participant, Leadership Miami, 2014-2015; Board of Directors, University of Miami Law Alumni Association; Member, The Florida Bar – Judicial Administration and Evaluation Committee; Member, American Bar Association – Construction Industry Forum, Litigation Section; and Member, Urban Land Institute, Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council.

Kolaya received a law degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2008, a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2001, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Miami in 2000.
