Boulder-based Renewable Choice Energy announced today that it has hired Pete Dignan to occupy the newly created position of President & COO.

Dignan is the former founder and CEO of ProtoTest, a Denver-based software consulting business. During a sabbatical from the company in 2010-2011, Dignan served as the Executive Director for the non-profit Connected Organizations for a Responsible Economy (CORE) where he launched the CORE Catalyst program, helping more than 20 Colorado companies—including ProtoTest—become certified B Corporations. He holds a BA degree in environmental science from the University of Virginia.

Dignan is a tireless advocate for corporate responsibility. Recognized by B Lab, the non-profit organization behind the B Corp movement as a “B Corp Champion,” Dignan was instrumental in bringing benefit corporation legislation to Colorado. He also serves on the Sustainability Advisory Committee for Eco-Products in Boulder and on the Colorado B Corp Advisory Council.

“We are delighted to welcome Pete Dignan as our new President,” said Quayle Hodek, Renewable Choice Energy founder and CEO. “Pete’s years of experience as an entrepreneur, leader, manager, and advocate, combined with his passions for sustainability, technology, and corporate responsibility make him an outstanding addition to our talented team.”

Dignan joins Renewable Choice at a pivotal time in the 13 year old company’s history. Recognized for the second time in 2014 by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Green Power Supplier of the Year, the company and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Mosaic Sustainability, provides environmentally-focused products and services to over 140 of the Fortune 500, and supplies renewable energy to more of the EPA’s Green Power Partners than any other firm. The company recently announced its partnership with RMI as a founding member of the Business Renewables Center.

Founded in 2001 with the mission to bring the benefits of clean and renewable sources of energy to individuals and businesses, Renewable Choice has pioneered corporate green power buying, providing renewable energy to the first large companies utilizing 100% wind power for their businesses. As the renewable energy market has grown, Renewable Choice has continued to innovate by adding carbon offsets, sustainability consulting, and strategic renewable energy advisory services to its portfolio.
