Kauffman’s “Brighter Futures” initiative helps local organizations and schools attract outcomes-driven educators

“We always hope to inspire people locally and attract people nationally to Kansas City’s schools and programs,” said Aaron North, Kauffman Foundation vice president of Education. "

To help inform local educators and attract passionate education leaders from across the country to Kansas City, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has launched an online hub to showcase top-level education career opportunities in Kansas City.

http://www.Kauffman.org/BrightFutures connects educators to organizations pursuing strong academic and life outcomes for Kansas City students, particularly those in the Kansas City area’s urban districts. It aims to find innovative leaders with a proven track record of raising academic achievement for urban students and inspire local educators through new development and learning opportunities.

“We always hope to inspire people locally and attract people nationally to Kansas City’s schools and programs,” said Aaron North, Kauffman Foundation vice president of Education. “Students deserve great educators and schools that prepare them for life after high school. Teachers and leaders deserve the opportunity to work in great schools and develop their skills over time.”

The Kauffman Foundation is collaborating with Kansas City district and charter schools, educators, community leaders and funders to support a system of high-performing urban schools in Kansas City. The goal is to ensure every student has access to a seat in a high-quality public school.

The online resource on the Foundation’s website currently posts positions in education for the Foundation, the Ewing Marion Kauffman School, KIPP: Endeavor Academy, Leading Educators and the Missouri Charter Public School Commission. The site will be periodically updated with new positions in schools and organizations receiving support from or working with the Foundation.

The Foundation has long supported education in metropolitan Kansas City. In addition to the Kauffman School, the Foundation has funded local initiatives for organizations including KIPP and Teach For America, as well as its own Kauffman Scholars program.
