Rebecca Lawlor, noted designer and philanthropist, has been named Executive Producer of “40 Nights”, a powerful feature film that will explore the excruciating physical and emotional tribulations faced by Jesus Christ.
Lawlor, who is also an actress, will additionally have a performing role in the movie currently being filmed in Yuma, Arizona and set for release in the spring of 2016.
“As we approach the Easter holiday, I am especially honored to be a part of such an amazing filmmaking project that will document an important yet often overlooked part of Jesus’ life,” said Lawlor. “Backed by award-winning writers and directors, ’40 Nights’ is sure to resonate with viewers of all faiths and backgrounds.”
Lawlor is a Williamsburg, VA resident with a long history of involvement in faith-based and charitable causes, particularly those with a focus on domestic violence and child abuse. She is founder and director of the Hearts of Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope to children who have been abused.
“40 Nights” is produced by Collective Development Incorporated, whose CEO DJ Perry has been involved in the production of more than 50 feature films across various genres. Other actors in the film include Rance Howard, father of actor/director Ron Howard, and known for roles in “A Beautiful Mind,” “Nebraska” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
The film is directed by Jesse Low, the son of Christian missionaries who spent his childhood in the Papua, New Guinea jungle.
“Drawing from their rich professional and life experiences, this team is uniquely capable of telling the’40 Nights’ story in a way that will move audiences,” said Lawlor. “I believe deeply in this project and how using film to spread god’s word can make a difference in the lives of many more people."
In March 2012, Lawlor was featured on the cover of lifestyle publication Hampton Roads Magazine, who recognized her as one of the ten “Most Beautiful Women” in southeast Virginia. Earlier, she was awarded for her philanthropic accomplishments when she was given the title of “Dame” under the Imperial Order of Saint Helen, an Order of Knighthood whose members are dedicated to the chivalric principles of personal honor, courage, integrity, duty, and service.
