“I’m excited about the opportunity to join SafeAuto and lead the development of its independent agent business, foster new relationships with the right agencies, and make its affordable insurance available to more people.”
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) March 25, 2015
SafeAuto, a leading provider of minimum-limit auto insurance, announced today that Chris Allen, a former vice president and regional general manager at Safeco Insurance, is joining SafeAuto as agency distribution leader to lead the strategy and development of its independent agent business. Allen starts at SafeAuto this week in the newly created position reporting to CEO Ron Davies.
As agency distribution leader, Allen is tasked with building and growing SafeAuto’s independent agent business as SafeAuto makes moves to expand beyond its established direct-to-consumer business. The hire follows an announcement earlier this month of Safe Auto Insurance Group’s pending acquisition of AutoTex MGA, a Dallas-based managing general agency, in a private deal that is expected to close at the end of the month.
"We are excited to have someone of Chris’s experience and talent join SafeAuto," said SafeAuto CEO Ron Davies. "He will be instrumental in helping us build our agency distribution channel to further our goals of serving new customers in new ways."
"SafeAuto is in a unique position to enter the independent agency channel and reach new markets," said Allen. "I’m excited about the opportunity to join SafeAuto and lead the development of its independent agent business, foster new relationships with the right agencies, and make its affordable insurance available to more people."
Allen joins SafeAuto with over 20 years of experience in the insurance business. He comes to SafeAuto from Safeco Insurance (now part of Liberty Mutual Insurance), where he served as regional general manager and increased sales significantly across a nine-state region during his five-year tenure. Previously, Allen served as director of distribution at Progressive, managing sales and marketing for the insurance company’s agency business in 15 states across the Midwest and Northeast.
