Shareholder Loretta A. Tuell with the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is speaking at Indian Gaming 2015 taking place March 30–April 2, 2015, in San Diego, California. It is the 30th Anniversary of the Annual Trade Show and Convention hosted by the National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA).
Tuell, a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Government Law & Policy Practice and Global Gaming Group in the firm's Washington, D.C. office, is presenting the case study, “The Mohegan Way - from Cheeseburgers to Wood Pellets - Business Diversification to Strengthen Self-sufficiency and Sovereignty.” Her co-presenter for this March 31 session is Kevin Brown, chairman of the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut. Together, they will address the need to develop business diversification when tribal economies are built upon gaming revenue as their sole economic pillar. They also will reflect on best practices, investment strategies, and leadership direction to assist others interested in business diversification.
According to the conference website, Indian Gaming 2015 is a four-day program that will focus on the gaming industry; leadership development; law, regulation and compliance; operations; security; business and finance; iGaming; and top issues in Indian Country. The program will feature special 30th anniversary keynotes, including Kevin Washburn, assistant secretary for Indian Affairs at the U.S. Department of Interior, as well as a panel of Indian Country’s top CEOs.
