According to court documents, on April 20th, 2014, at approximately 3:15 am, 16 year old Giselle Mendoza was sleeping in her bedroom in the home she shared with her mother at 1005 East Avenue R in Palmdale, California. 20 year old Roberto Rodriguez was driving home drunk from a friend’s house when he fell asleep at the wheel, lost control of the Nissan Pathfinder he was driving, and slammed into the wall of the Avenue R apartment, which was the Decedent’s bedroom.
