Custom wood door and wide plank flooring company appoints Ed Wright to the position of General Manager.

I am excited to see the impact Ed will make in this new expanded role.

Sun Mountain, Inc., a premier manufacturer of custom wood doors and wide plank flooring, recently announced that Ed Wright has been named General Manager. Mr. Wright will provide general leadership and oversight with senior leadership of all aspects of Sun Mountain’s operations, including sales, marketing, manufacturing, finance and accounting, and information technology.

Mr. Wright joined Sun Mountain in 2006 as the company’s Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 26 years of executive management and hands-on experience in building products and branded consumer goods to Sun Mountain. In his role as CFO, Mr. Wright restructured the company’s financial reporting, established internal controls, and created detailed planning and forecasting systems. He also supported capital expenditures for capacity expansion and direct labor cost reductions, and participated in the acquisition of the company’s wood flooring product line.

“Ed Wright demonstrated great leadership through the economic downturn of 2008,” said Sun Mountain president John Walton. “He was instrumental in preserving the company’s financial stability during an incredibly challenging time that devastated the building trades across the country. I am excited to see the impact Ed will make in this new expanded role.”

“I am so very pleased and grateful to accept this position,” Mr. Wright commented. “Sun Mountain is a remarkable company, with amazing people, an exceptional product, and a solid foundation. We look forward to building on that foundation with continued sales growth and expansion into new markets throughout the United States.”

Founded in 1998, Sun Mountain manufactures custom wood doors and wide plank flooring for higher-end homes and resort properties at its state-of-the-art production facility in Berthoud, Colorado. It also operates five showrooms nationwide (in Colorado, San Francisco, Asheville, NC, and Park City, UT) and a nationally based sales force. Sun Mountain offers over twenty wood species, fully customizable design, myriad customization options including factory pre-finishing (with custom color matching), and pre-hung delivery. And Sun Mountain’s direct distribution model makes its product an excellent value.
