National recruitment firm Slone Partners is pleased to announce the placement of Pedro Diaz as Vice President of Research, Development & Engineering at Cirle, a medical technology incubator in Miami, Fla.

Mr. Diaz joins a rapidly growing organization that has added more than 35 professionals since its founding in 2010. In 2014 Cirle entered into an exclusive license agreement with Bausch & Lomb, a leading global eye-health company, for the development and commercialization of its first technology platform, the Cirle Surgical Navigation System (SNS), for cataract surgery. The Cirle team is working to expand the applications for the surgical navigation platform while pursuing other novel technologies and building a robust product pipeline.

Mr. Diaz brings extensive experience in all phases of product development and a proven track record of bringing new technologies to market, most recently as Director of Research and Integration Leader at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences. There, he managed a large hybrid team tasked with implementing and commercializing acquired technologies.

Prior to Beckman Coulter, Mr. Diaz was Director of Research & Development at Cordis Endovascular, a Johnson & Johnson company, where he led the successful completion of multiple projects in the area of embolic protection systems and vascular stent delivery systems.

Mr. Diaz received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master of Science in Technology Management from Florida International University. He was the recipient of Beckman Coulter’s Excellence in Innovation Award in 2009, and holds several U.S. patents in the medical device industry.
