The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation has announced that 17 undergraduate and graduate students from 11 universities have been selected as recipients of $31,500 in scholarship funds. These biannual scholarships are available to students who are in good academic standing and are committed to pursuing careers in the insurance industry.

Through scholarship opportunities, selected students are not only encouraged to take risk management and insurance courses, but also they can receive the financial support they need to complete their degrees.

“Thanks to one of my insurance professors who urged me to apply, this scholarship is a great help in relieving some of the financial stress that comes along with college,” said Annabelle Kacmar, a student from Missouri State University. “Instead of dedicating the majority of my time working to pay for schooling, I will be able to spend more time focusing on my studies.”

Students from the following institutions were awarded scholarship funds:

  •     Appalachian State University
  •     Ball State University
  •     Bradley University
  •     California State University at Fullerton
  •     Kent State University
  •     Missouri State University
  •     Ohio State University
  •     Olivet College
  •     Temple University
  •     Troy University
  •     University of Alabama

“I congratulate each of the spring 2015 scholarship recipients and thank all of those who participated,” said Jason Terrell, The Griffith Foundation’s vice president. “We had a large number of remarkable applications submitted by students this year and look forward to helping advance their education. Such quality is a reflection of not only the students’ passion and capabilities, but also the work and dedication of their professors.”
