Shady Grove Fertility launched today a new Self-Pay Medication Discount Program in which self-pay patients will receive a combined discount of 25 percent off eligible medications from participating pharmacies.

Shady Grove Fertility understands the significant role that cost plays for patients undergoing fertility treatment and has developed many pioneering financial programs to increase patient affordability. Continuing in the spirit of expanding patient access to care, Shady Grove Fertility designed and launched the new Self-Pay Medication Discount Program.

The Self-Pay Medication Discount Program is available to patients who do not have insurance benefits—or for those who waive their benefits due to high deductibles, poor coverage, or a lifetime financial cap. Through this program, patients will receive a combined 25 percent discount on the following eligible medications: Gonal-f, Cetrotide, Menopur, Leuprolide Acetate 2 week kit, Endometrin, birth control pills, Zithromax, and Estrace. In addition to these discounts, patients will also receive cost comparisons between insurance and out-of-pocket expenses from participating pharmacies, as well as a specially-trained case manager, provided by the pharmacy. This program is exclusive to Shady Grove Fertility patients.

“We designed this program to offer self-pay patients the best available price for their medication. Our goal is to help minimize our patients’ stress and anxiety wherever possible, and we are proud to launch this one-of-a kind medication program,” says Michele Purcell, BSN, RN, MHA, Donor Egg and Egg Freezing Program Director.

The three participating pharmacies include: Ambulatory Care Pharmacy in Rockville, MD, Rosemont Pharmacy in Rosemont, PA, and Freedom Fertility Pharmacy through mail order. Patients can combine this program with Shady Grove Fertility’s Shared Help Program, as well as EMD Serono’s Compassionate Care Program.

Shady Grove Fertility is at the forefront of creating innovative financial programs to increase patient access to treatment. Programs such as the Multi-Cycle Discount Program and the Shared Risk 100% Refund Guarantee have afforded patients the ability to pay a single flat fee for multiple treatment cycles, or offer a refund if you do not take home a baby after a certain number of cycles. Additionally, Shady Grove Fertility offers discounts based on income or military service. For more information, visit http://www.shadygrovefertility.com/discounted-medication-programs.
