Richard Rosenbaum, chief executive officer of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, hosted the second annual Out in Law: U.S. LGBT Leadership summit yesterday at the New York Law School. Hundreds of senior LGBT and Ally leaders of the global legal and financial industry were in attendance.
“My hope today is to have an open and honest conversation,” stated Rosenbaum in his opening remarks yesterday morning.
Following his opening remarks, Rosenbaum and Jim Smith, chief executive officer of Thomson Reuters, discussed the importance of Allyship to their strategies of leadership. Brad Kaufman, vice president and treasurer of Greenberg Traurig, also spoke at the event regarding equality and attorney-client relationships.
“We encourage all of our lawyers to be open, authentic, and trustworthy. We have always prided ourselves on being a meritocracy,” stated Rosenbaum.
An initiative of the global LGBT business advisory firm Out Leadership, Out in Law brings together executives from leading global law firms to share strategy around issues at the intersection of LGBT and the law.
“Until you put people in real positions of authority and leadership and give them a seat at the table they will not feel accepted,” continued Rosenbaum.
Greenberg Traurig will be participating today in the fifth annual Out on the Street: U.S. LGBT Leadership Summit hosted by Morgan Stanley.
