TJP Innovation, a northwest Ohio developer of consumer goods, announced it will officially introduce the Spout On® downspout anchor on May 5, 2015, at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas. The product was created to help prevent costly foundation and structure content damage caused by water infiltration due to unsecured or improperly directed downspout extensions.

The Spout On anchor consists of an injection-molded, UV-resistant polymer bracket and a seven and one half-inch garden spike. It’s designed to fit all standard-sized, 2” X 3” residential downspouts installed either horizontally or vertically. The Spout On anchor can be installed in most instances in less than 10 seconds, without tools. Once secured, it holds downspout extensions in place, preventing dislodging or redirection caused by weather, children’s toys, wildlife, lawn care equipment or other specific impacts. In addition to practicality, Spout On anchors offer an aesthetically appealing alternative to using rocks, bricks or similar objects to hold extensions in place.

According to TJP Innovation President Terry Langenderfer, the Spout On anchor was developed out of personal necessity: “One windy, rainy day, my youngest daughter who had been playing in our newly finished basement came upstairs to inform me that the carpet was wet. I immediately went outside to investigate and discovered the extension to the downspout on that portion of the house was lying in the middle of the yard, while water gushed out of the spout, directly down the wall of the foundation. Unable to find a simple, inexpensive solution after an extensive search at home improvement and hardware stores, I decided to design the Spout On downspout anchor.”

Spout On products are manufactured and packaged in northwest Ohio. Retailers can see the Spout On anchor for the first time at booth 2947 at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas from May 5 – 7, 2015.
