Donald Ewigleben has joined Holland & Hart LLP in the firm’s Denver Tech Center office as Of Counsel, bringing extensive mining operations experience to the firm’s Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources practice. Ewigleben’s addition will enhance the firm’s ability to assist mining clients to proactively handle permitting, regulatory, environment, government affairs, mergers and acquisitions, and other legal matters.
Ewigleben has more than 35 years of experience in the mining industry. He has held senior positions at large international producers and smaller public companies with mineral exploration and development projects. He has worked in a legal or executive capacity at several major gold mining companies in North America, with extensive experience in Alaska, Colorado, Washington, and Nevada. He understands all aspects of the mining industry from initial exploration through development, construction, production, shut down, and reclamation.

Most recently, Ewigleben was CEO of International Tower Hill Mines, Ltd., which is developing the Livengood Gold Project in Fairbanks, Alaska. Prior to that, he was President, CEO, and Director of Uranium Resources Inc., a publicly traded uranium producer. His career also includes tenures as President, CEO, General Counsel and other executive functions with AngloGold Ashanti North America, as well as Executive Officer – Law, Safety, Health & Environment & General Counsel for its parent company, AngloGold Ashanti Ltd, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Early in his career, he had significant roles with gold producer Echo Bay Mines Ltd., AMAX Gold and AMAX Coal.
