MRC Cornerstone Retirement Community Undergoes Extensive Remodel
TEXARKANA, Texas (PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- Methodist Retirement Communities announced it has undertaken a $3 million project to upgrade and renovate the lobby, dining and common areas of its Cornerstone Retirement Community, a project expected to reach completion by the end of 2015. Renovations to the independent living apartments have been underway since 2013 and will continue as apartments become available until the total renovation of all apartments is completed.
The latest project will include remodeling of the atrium lobby, the formal dining room, all sitting areas and common corridors. The renovations will add a 600-square-foot therapy gymnasium, a new casual café bistro and an updated private dining room as well as a renovated multi-purpose room that will feature custom seating and a large movie screen. New furnishings and décor are also planned for the common areas. Improved dining services that feature extended service hours will accompany the physical changes.
“The improvements are part of our company’s vision to provide the latest features in both living space and services to our residents,” said Alyssa Adam, vice president of marketing for MRC. “Seniors today place a greater emphasis on having more control over their lives, which means having more choices when it comes to dining services, activities and amenities. At Cornerstone, the improvements are designed to satisfy those wants while still maintaining our core mission of providing the assurance that excellent health care services will be in place as our residents need them.”
The Cornerstone community offers single family patio homes, independent living apartment homes, and a full range of health care options, including assisted living apartment homes, certified memory support suites, 24-hour Medicare certified skilled nursing care suites and home health care.
