National Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month gives us a good platform to discuss better bone health through nutrition and lifestyle changes.

May is National Osteoporosis Month, and also marks the third year anniversary of the Institute for Better Bone Health. Founded by Charles T. Price, MD, the Institute for Better Bone Health aims to educate both consumers and physicians about the latest advances in bone care, and encourage research into nutritional aspects of bone health.

According to a study recently published by the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, 54 million total Americans are affected by osteoporosis and low bone mass. This breaks down to a total of 10.2 million adults with osteoporosis, and another 43.4 million with low bone mass, meaning that half of the total United States adult population is currently affected.

Price founded the Institute for Better Bone Health to serve as a resource and research-rich company. Backed by a panel of distinguished and qualified doctors, the company aims to provide consumers with safe and well-researched products.

“Osteoporosis, which is primarily caused by low bone mass or density, is a serious national epidemic. But it’s never too late for people to take action toward improving their bone health,” said Price. “National Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month gives us a good platform to discuss better bone health through nutrition and lifestyle changes.”

At the core of the product line is the Silical System®, a nutritional supplement duo which supports bone strength and flexibility through key nutrients. One of the key ingredients is silicon, which directly impacts all aspects of bone care and is significantly involved in the earliest stages of collagen production and bone formation. The supplements contain additional nutrients that are not only important for bone health, but that are lacking in the typical American diet, such as vitamin K2, vitamin C, calcium and vitamin D.

In addition to providing quality supplements to consumers, the Institute for Better Bone Health is committed to providing educational content to consumers and doctors so that they have the whole picture on how to improve bone health, from diet and exercise to supplements and medicine. Price has written an e-book, Practical Tips for Bone Health and Osteoporosis, which is available for free download at http://www.bonehealthnow.com/ebook.

The Institute for Better Bone Health promises to stay current on research as well as support new research; they give consumers constant access to the latest research, and they contribute a portion of the sale of every product to fund continued research into bone health.
