LAS VEGAS, NV (PRWEB) May 06, 2015
In honor of National Prevention Week, Nevada Homes for Youth, a local non-profit dedicated to providing substance abuse treatment to teens struggling with addiction, is excited to announce its participation in The Super Run. This fun-filled event will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Cornerstone Park in Henderson, Nevada. The Super Run will be a fun day, not to mention a great excuse to wear a super hero cape, which the entire family can get involved in, and enjoy, for an amazing cause. There will be games for the kids, and giveaways including a raffle hosted by Nevada Homes for Youth, with amazing prizes donated by their sponsors, including a pair of tickets to Wet’n’Wild!
The Super Run is for all ages and all activity levels, with the option of either a 5K or a 1K Fun Run, and Nevada Homes for Youth is looking for Super Heroes, who are willing to rise to the challenge, and participate with their team, The NHY Prevention Crusaders. Check-in time begins at 7:30am, the 5K begins at 8:30am and the 1K Fun Run begins at 10:00am.

National Prevention Week is a SAMHSA-supported annual health observance, dedicated to increasing public awareness of, and action around, substance abuse and mental health issues. “In the past National Prevention Week has typically been geared towards adults. However, too often we tend to forget about the young adolescents who are facing the same issues,” says Ron Moore, MSW, Nevada Homes for Youth Executive Director. “Nevada Homes for Youth’s mission is to bring, and keep, teen substance abuse in the forefront.”
