The BTI Consulting Group’s newest research finds the law firms earning increasingly rare recommendations are among the best positioned to win new work.

Client service is consistently the leading driver of law firm recommendations by General Counsel.

The law firms in the vanguard of recommendations have declined, down 12.6%, as revealed in the just-released BTI Brand Elite 2015: Client Perceptions of the Best-Branded Law Firms. The BTI Consulting Group’s newest in-depth research with 648 corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 and large organizations reveals the 345 law firms with the biggest imprint on corporate counsel in one of the key brand differentiators: earning unprompted recommendations.

Client expectations are soaring as corporate counsel push for more change and more business value from their law firms. However, the response from law firms has left corporate counsel reluctant to unequivocally recommend a firm to their peers.

Bucking this trend are Alston & Bird and Seyfarth Shaw, which join the Best of Best Recommended Law Firms this year, while Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, Baker Botts, Barnes & Thornburg, Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, Dechert, Duane Morris, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, Paul, Weiss, Perkins Coie, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett join the ranks of the Leading Recommended Law Firms.
