Leading cloud E/CTRM vendor Aspect has once again been named a ‘major player’ in its industry in the latest IDC sector report ‘IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) Software 2015 Vendor Assessment.”
Aspect was one of eight vendors included in the report. Key factors in its ranking noted in the report were the company’s regional diversity and presence in North America, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific, its latest technology offering improved intelligence, and its single platform with energy trade, risk and physical operations combined with market data built on an in-memory database.
It was further recognised for the way it offers a rapid entry into ETRM without investment in infrastructure, its inherent scalability, and its expansion from oil and bio-fuels into metals, coal and freight, and more recently softs and agriculturals. Notable customers named in the report were Trafigura, Concord, Mitsubishi, Unipec, Aegean and Oando.
Welcoming the IDC Energy Insights report, Aspect president and CEO Steve Hughes said it came at a time when the company was celebrating its 15th and most successful year in business, having been largely unaffected by a continuing tough economy.
“It is an honor to be recognized in this way by a prominent organization like IDC. This good performance underscores the importance of finding a niche in the market and satisfying it with well engineered solutions based around a budget friendly subscription model. I think we have proved once again that success belongs to those companies that can constantly adapt to a changing market.”
