Julia O’Neill Joins Tunnell Consulting’s Operational and Process Improvement Practice

Tunnell Consulting, Inc. today announced that Julia O’Neill has joined the firm as senior statistician and Principal, a position to which she brings more than 30 years of experience in the management and analysis of complex and large data sets in the vaccines, biologics, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

“We’re delighted to have Julia join the Tunnell team and enhance our longstanding capabilities in data analytics,” said Dr. Philippe Cini, Group Vice President and leader of the firm’s Operational and Process Improvement practice. “Her deep expertise in the application of data management and statistics to pharmaceutical, vaccines and biologics operations will help our clients achieve the rigorous analytics that are critical to their success.”

Prior to joining Tunnell, she served as Director, Engineering, Global Technical Operations at Merck & Co. where she was responsible for developing and deploying strategies to ensure the robustness of manufacturing processes for all human health products. Previously at Merck, as Director, Engineering, Vaccines and Biologics Technical Operations, she led the design and installation of Continued Process Verification (CPV) for Merck’s vaccines and biologics; and, as Principal Engineer, Viral Vaccines Technology & Engineering, she established and led a team of engineers to apply Six Sigma methodology to some of the most challenging issues in viral vaccine manufacturing. Prior to that, she held a number of positions at specialty chemical manufacturer Rohm and Haas Co.

Ms. O’Neill has published widely on process analytics and statistics and is a frequent presenter at industry and professional conferences. She holds an M.S. in statistics from the University of Wisconsin and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Maine.
