Community Scene (, the social network for communities, announced today the official launch of its free online platform designed to connect people with their local communities in over 18,000 cities nationwide and globally.

On Community Scene, members can share updates with photos and video about what’s happening in their community – including local news, activities for the family, fund-raising events, school announcement and voting polls. Members can choose a home community or follow any community they’re interested in, and get real-time notifications of updates in those communities.

“There are numerous social networks on the Internet today, but none that are focused on bringing together local communities at a national and global level,” said Rick Palmer, CEO and Co-founder of Community Scene. “It takes more than just a neighborhood or village to change the world – but by bringing communities together nationwide we can have a huge impact, and it starts by engaging and empowering local community members.”
