The Nevada Barbeque Association (NVBBQA) is proud to present the inaugural Las Vegas Championship RibFest 2015 (http://www.vegasribfest.com) in the parking lot of Bass Pro Shop-Outdoor World, June 6th, 2015, to benefit the Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation (http://www.theburnfoundation.org). Pitting amateur rib masters against competition rib teams and popular local restaurants, everyone will be competing for the coveted title of “Best Ribs in Las Vegas 2015.” With over 45 professional teams and restaurants competing and police and fire departments providing displays and safety demonstrations, this has developed into a premier BBQ event for Southern Nevada. Admission and parking are free to the public and is recommended for all ages.

The event will open to the public at Saturday morning at 11:00 AM continuing after the awards ceremony at 4:00 PM until at 6:00 PM. Competitors and vendors on site will provide sample ribs for purchase donation, as well as BBQ menu items of rib plates, pulled pork sandwiches and brisket dinners. This is a family friendly event with a Kids’ Zone, cooking demonstrations and live musical entertainment.

Who has the best ribs in Las Vegas?
“We intend to settle this question once and for all,” remarks Steve Overlay, of the Nevada Barbecue Association. The cash prize for the ‘Best Ribs in Las Vegas 2015’ is $2000 and there are trophies for the top winners. Judging will be done by a panel of BBQ judges and local celebrities. A People’s Choice Award will be determined by a separate panel of everyday rib lovers at the event and features $500 in prize money and trophies.

Proceeds from the competition entries, donations and corporate sponsorships go directly to the Burn Foundation.
