Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges and Minneapolis Downtown Council and Downtown Improvement District President & CEO Steve Cramer today joined YA (formerly Young America) President and CEO Chris Behrens and others for a ribbon cutting event at YA’s new headquarters, located in downtown Minneapolis’ Lumber Exchange Building.

“During the past few years we have experienced tremendous growth, adapting our business to the dramatic digital, social and mobile shifts in our industry,” said Behrens. “We believe our new name and new location reflect our focus on meeting our clients and their customers where they are in this changing environment.”

YA has added more than 25 new clients during the past year and the business has continued its evolution from traditional promotional marketing programs, such as mail-in rebates, to the sophisticated execution of digital marketing solutions. Today, 90 percent of YA’s consumer interactions on behalf of clients are digital.

“The addition of YA in downtown Minneapolis is tremendous, and I want to personally welcome them to our city,” said Mayor Hodges. “Their cutting-edge philosophy will fit in perfectly with downtown’s dynamic work environment. I believe they’ll immediately see the benefits of their new centrally-located home in our City’s thriving economic community.”

All 100+ U.S.-based YA employees have moved from offices in Norwood Young American, Minn., and Edina, Minn., into to the Lumber Exchange building, located at 10 South 5th Street in downtown Minneapolis.

“Downtown Minneapolis is an ideal place for YA, a company experiencing incredible growth within its industry,” said Cramer. “Businesses thrive here because of their close proximity to others and their ability to attract and retain top talent. YA’s reputation in promotional marketing will perfectly complement the merits of being located here in the heart of Minneapolis.”
