The Northern California HR Association (NCHRA), one of the nation’s largest regional HR associations, today announced the appointment of Greg Morton as Chief Executive Officer effective June 1, 2015. Mr. Morton brings 20 plus years of relevant industry experience to his new role, having most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer at Great Place to Work®.
Mr. Morton will operate from the NCHRA headquarters in San Francisco and oversee the association’s 12 regions throughout Northern California. His focus will be on growing membership and further developing the value proposition for members, while leading the association into the second half of its first century.
“Looking to the future, the Board of Directors devoted significant time and effort to evaluating the status of the HR profession and the needs of the Northern California HR community to ensure that the new leadership of NCHRA would continue to be responsive to the challenges and opportunities for the future — and we found that in Greg,” said NCHRA Board President Christine Pallatto. “Increasing complexity and value-delivery expectations are a constant for HR professionals, and we are committed to continuing our role in supporting our members and are thrilled Greg will be leading our association’s future value proposition development.”
“With his years of leading the sales and marketing efforts for firms operating within the HCM space, Greg is uniquely positioned to catapult the association into its next phase of growth,” says Eugene Dilan, NCHRA Board President Elect. “Not only does Greg have a proven track record of growth, he also understands the intersection of technology and HR, which will be critical as the association moves forward.”
“I’m excited and honored to lead an organization that has served Northern California HR professionals for 55 years,” said Mr. Morton. "NCHRA will be the crucible for the future of the HR profession given its proximity to the nation’s most prominent technology companies and large population of HR professionals.”
Mr. Morton’s experience includes the expansion of Insperity‘s (NSP) footprint in the West, leading sales from $0 to $100 million prior to heading marketing for a San Leandro-based TriNet (TNET). Most recently he served as Chief Marketing Officer for Great Place to Work® where he led efforts to build the brand globally.
Mr. Morton earned a BA in Management from Vanguard University of Southern California and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Additionally, he has earned an SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) designation.
