International Datacasting Corporation (TSX: IDC), a technology provider for the world’s premiere broadcasters, is pleased to announce that Kansas Radio Network (KRN), a leading radio broadcaster and subsidiary of the Morris Communications Company, LLC, has selected the STAR Pro Audio™ solution to upgrade its 100+ broadcast site radio network.
“We have selected the STAR Pro Audio solution due to its unparalleled level of high-end features and flexibility that enable us to deliver more value to our customers”, said Larry Riggins, General Manager at Kansas Radio Network. “As a leading and well-established supplier in the global audio distribution market, IDC was an excellent choice to take our network to the next level.”
The STAR Pro Audio solution includes professional DVB-S/S2 satellite audio receivers supporting integrated advertisement and content playout, and offers live professional audio decoding, recording and time-shifting. The solution provides maximum flexibility in data rates, codecs and sample rates, including MPEG Layer 2 for existing DVB compatibility or new High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (HE-AAC) for the best audio performance at the lowest bit rate.
“The continued success of the STAR Pro Audio solution in the market demonstrates IDC’s commitment to be the industry-leading technology supplier for radio broadcasters,” said Steeve Huin, Vice-President Products and Services at IDC. “The combination of excellent audio quality and high-end features offered by the new solution will be of great benefit to KRN.”
