The Vollrath Company, LLC, today launched a multi-faceted campaign targeted to the K-12 school segment that offers school foodservice operators solutions to their top concerns, in addition to an opportunity to win one of three new salad bars designed and manufactured specifically to serve fresh fruits and vegetables to K-12 students.
The online promotion launched today with an email targeted to K-12 foodservice operators inviting them to register to win one of the three salad bars and to receive weekly “lesson plans” that include fresh ideas for addressing many of the challenges associated with improving children’s overall diet and creating healthier eating habits now and in the future. Over the next six weeks, lesson plan topics will include: Food Safety, Cost of Food, Cafeteria Layout, Meal Patterns, Cost of Equipment, and Meal Participation followed with the announcement of the three salad bar winners on week seven.
For each lesson plan, recipients can expect valuable content including informative “Did you Know” info-graphics with quick nutrition and food safety facts from resources like the USDA, Mayo Clinic and more; short video clips featuring proven solutions by Vollrath’s Chef Rich; articles and blog posts authored by product experts; and the enlightening results of weekly polls completed by school foodservice industry peers.
Designed specifically for the “Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools” program, the three 60” by 30” NSF certified refrigerated salad bars include a durable Vollrath Signature Server® 18-gauge 400 series stainless steel base, 18-gauge 300 series stainless steel top and recessed display well, NSF refrigerated four-well cold pan, heavy duty 4” swivel casters with breaks, a full set of Vollrath Super Pan® steam table pans, and a variety of NSF certified Utility Tongs and Spoodle® utensils. The colorful laminate features bold images of fresh fruits and vegetables that will appeal to K-12 students. Each of the three carts is valued at just over $10,000 list price.
Participants also have the opportunity to earn “extra credit” by taking advantage of Vollrath’s Free Goods or Mobile Serving Line-up Give-away promotions. Customers who participate in the Free Goods promotion earn 15 percent of the purchase price of mobile serving equipment as a merchandise credit toward free Vollrath foodservice items.
