There is nothing quite like bringing something you love to your hometown
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) July 09, 2015
This summer just keeps getting hotter and in August and September, Slide the City™ is bringing their massive slip ‘n slide for Utahans to take a break from the heat. Families and friends alike can slip, slide and splash down this king-sized slide. The event encourages the community to get outside and stay active during the warm summer months.
“We spend so much time walking, running and driving around our cities,” said Slide the City™ event director TR Gourley. “But how many times have you been able to say you slid down your city streets?”
Slide the City is transforming scorching summer days into a water lover’s paradise as participants ride inflatables down this giant slide. The Utah-based company has opened registration for its Orem and Salt Lake City locations and hopes to bring its record-breaking slide to several other cities in the state. Event organizers anticipate that thousands of participants will come to “slide into summer.” With music, local vendors, and giveaways, this family-friendly event promises to be a highlight of the year.
“There is nothing quite like bringing something you love to your hometown,” said co-founder and Salt Lake City native TR Gourley. “I can’t wait to watch friends and family slide down Main Street in downtown Salt Lake!”
Portions of event proceeds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area (rmhcslc.org) for the Salt Lake City event, and Utah Valley University (uvu.edu) for the Orem event, respectively. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides temporary housing for families of seriously ill or injured children being treated at area hospitals. Utah Valley University seeks to prepare students for success in a diverse global society.
Participants can purchase a one, three or unlimited slide pass, and are encouraged to sign up this month to take advantage of the current discount. Pricing starts at $13. All those over 5 years of age and 46 inches tall are welcome to slide!
