The third annual Key Business Drivers & Opportunities in Cross-Border E-Commerce survey is now open for input from merchants and payment professionals from around the world. Last year’s survey polled nearly 700 e-commerce and omnichannel merchants, payment service providers, acquirers and consultants, quantifying stakeholder attitudes about this increasingly important segment of payments. The report detailed the opportunities and challenges facing retailers operating in several regions around the globe.
Leading online payments industry publication CardNotPresent.com and Amsterdam-based payment service provider Payvision have partnered again to gather and dig into data that identifies the biggest drivers and most challenging hurdles affecting merchants seeking increased revenue through international expansion.
“The ultimate promise of e-commerce is business without borders,” said Steven Casco, CEO of CardNotPresent.com. “In practice, while the opportunity is enormous, cross-border e-commerce can be daunting. Culture, currency and technology cause fear and hesitation when instead they could be leveraged to gain a competitive advantage. For three years now, our survey has delivered actionable data to an industry that has been starving for it. We’re counting on online merchants and the companies that support them to participate in the survey so we can identify important trends companies can use if they’re planning to expand cross-border.”
CardNotPresent.com and Payvision expect even greater response this year to a survey that has become a benchmark in cross-border payments, taking an ongoing look at the shifting concerns of all industry stakeholders.
“We are breaking new ground in cross-border e-commerce,” said Rolf Visser, vice president of global marketing for Payvision. “Now in its third year, our global survey is the biggest of its kind. We can successfully track and measure what’s motivating and hindering the industry, advise on overcoming the barriers and identify opportunities. Our aim is to educate the entire market from West to East, and facilitate a more profitable, meaningful cross-border exchange for merchants, PSPs and consumers.”
