Ostendio, a leading provider of healthcare information security and risk management solutions, today announced the American College of Cardiology (ACC) will use Ostendio’s My Virtual Compliance Manager platform (MyVCM™) to enhance its information security, compliance management and training programs.

The ACC, whose mission is to transform cardiovascular care, already manages the largest registry of cardiovascular data in the country and is looking to work with innovative digital health companies to find new ways to utilize this data.

“MyVCM™ will allow us to more efficiently train and educate our workforce on our internal security policies and procedures,” said Mark J. Fox, Compliance and Integrity Officer for the ACC. “Furthermore, it will enable us to identify and work more effectively with new and pioneering digital health vendors as they become part of the MyVCM™ Trust Network.”

“MyVCM™ was designed to help innovative organizations, like the ACC, train and manage all individuals who access sensitive information, whether they are employees, partners or vendors,” said Grant Elliott, Ostendio’s Founder and CEO. “As a former CISO for a successful Health IT company, I know how hard it is to build an effective security and compliance program. MyVCM™ not only helps organizations manage their own compliance but also, as part of the MyVCM™ Trust Network™, they can monitor, manage and securely share data with partners, vendors, and business associates.”

Ostendio was introduced to the ACC through its partnership with 1776, a global entrepreneurship incubator based in DC.

“Connecting innovative companies to organizations eager to find new solutions is a big part of 1776’s value proposition,” said David Zipper, Managing Director of 1776. “The Ostendio and ACC relationship is not only an excellent example of a great fit, but will also help facilitate the ACC’s ability to identify and work with other responsible leading edge digital health companies.”
