American Institutes for Research (AIR) experts Mark Schneider and Angela Minnici will present at the Legislative Summit hosted by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) August 3-6 in Seattle, WA.

American Institutes for Research (AIR) experts Mark Schneider and Angela Minnici will present at the Legislative Summit hosted by the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) August 3-6 in Seattle, WA. Dr. Schneider will be on a panel examining future job prospects and implications for policymakers. Dr. Minnici will discuss building teaching career ladders and supporting teacher leaders.

The Summit – the nation’s largest gathering of legislators and legislative staff – features more than 150 interactive sessions, professional development workshops, and networking opportunities. The bipartisan NCSL provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas and obtain resources on pressing state issues.

Dr. Mark Schneider is a vice president and Institute Fellow specializing in higher education and education policy at AIR. Prior to joining AIR, Dr. Schneider was Commissioner of the National Center for Education Statistics from 2005-2008. He is also president of College Measures, a partnership between AIR and Optimity Advisors LLC that uses data to drive improvement in higher education outcomes in the U.S.

Dr. Angela Minnici directs AIR’s Education Policy Center. As a managing researcher at AIR, Dr. Minnici coordinates, supports, and leads project teams developing and implementing tools and processes designed to improve educator effectiveness, particularly through educator evaluation. She also directs the AIR-operated Center on Great Teachers and Leaders.

Dr. Minnici will present on Tuesday, August 4 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. PDT in the session, “Next Step: Building Teaching Career Ladders and Supporting Teacher Leaders.” Dr. Schneider will take part in “The Future of Everything (Deep Dive Session)” on Wednesday, August 5 from 9:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PDT.
