Within the pages of Karen K. Satterlee’s new book, Stepping Out of the Pages, ($16.49, paperback, 9781498444804) readers will enjoy Bible stories in narrative form, with personalities telling the story in their own words. This unique presentation makes the characters from the Bible become more real and human as readers explore their thoughts, feelings and responses to various situations. Written as monologues, these inspiring stories can be performed dramatically to bring each Bible character alive. Helpful study guides for each chapter make this book ideal to read during personal devotion time, or in a Bible study group, to help stimulate discussion.
“I hope readers will understand the characters better, and realize that although centuries separate us, we are just like them in many, many ways,” states the author. “I hope, as they read, they will feel what the characters feel – celebrating their triumphs, and realizing that God is with them even in their failures and lack of faith – and that will encourage the reader, as well.”
