The data – provided by HitWise Online Consumer Intelligence – has confirmed that during the month of July, when searching for classic car insurance online, 31.87% of people visited the Footman James website, compared to 19.92% visiting its closest competitor.
The figures are testimony to the broker’s strengthening presence as its online sales continue to double year on year.
Hitwise Online Consumer Intelligence is provided by Experian Marketing Services and improves the effectiveness of search, display, affiliate, mobile, email and social media marketing campaigns through daily insights from the world’s largest sample of online behaviour across desktop, tablet and smartphone devices.

The buying behaviour of the classic owner is changing, such as the way they are accessing services like insurance. Footman James has seen a 300% increase of those buying insurance online year on year and in July online quotes equated to 44% of the overall quotes provided. - recognising these buying shifts FJ has introduced user friendly platforms and easy transaction processes – all part of its commitment to enthusiasts.
Other recent customer-focused initiatives include extended opening times, 7.00am and 9.00pm, Monday to Friday and from 9.00am to 1.00pm every Saturday.
