The AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship Ramspur Winery Calistoga Half Mile will be held on Saturday Sept. 26th, 2015, with CFTA running an AMA Amateur Half Mile event the next day. This two day happening offers spectators the thrill of seeing the best flat track racers on the planet and the unique opportunity to get close to the brightest stars of tomorrow the next day.
“It is a unique opportunity for fans and riders to experience the joy of two full days of AMA flat track racing,” states Ramspur Winery’s spokesperson Terry Otton. The Calistoga Half Mile is a very special weekend and it's a delight to make amateur flat track a part of the program.”
In addition to the wildly entertaining spectacle of flat track racing, the weekend also includes live music, a vintage bike show, vendor displays and much more. All in the stunning Napa Valley gem Calistoga, CA. Ride (or drive) in on the gorgeous winding roads, take in the downtown scene, soak in the wine country vibe, and then take in the glory of two monumental days of motorcycle flat track racing.
The amateur program is a new addition to the Ramspur Winery Calistoga Half Mile. CFTA owner, Randy Kremlacek says, “This is a great collaboration and our goal is to deliver quality fan entertainment from sun up to sundown. At our event on Sunday, fans will be able to mingle with racers the entire day. It’s a wonderful opportunity for spectators to get close to the future pro athletes of AMA flat track.”
Flat Track racing is growing again across America and this weekend epitomizes the future of the sport. Spectators young and old can participate in the re-birth of the original extreme motorsport. This weekend is a unified program within the AMA where riders and fans can experience both grass roots racing and upper echelon professionals.
“The AMA is pleased that the California Flat Track Association will be hosting an amateur AMA dirt track competition the day following the AMA Pro Flat Track Series at Calistoga,” said AMA Track Racing Manager Ken Saillant. “By organizing this event, it allows amateur racers to watch and learn from the best in the sport before taking to the track to compete with each other. Another benefit is that the pro racing community can watch the amateurs compete, some of whom may demonstrate the skills needed to become pro flat track racers.”
