Los Alamitos, CA (PRWEB) September 03, 2015
Center For Discovery, a national leader in eating disorder treatment, today announced the expansion of its outpatient eating disorder treatment centers. The program serves both adults and adolescents struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and other disordered eating issues.
Outpatient treatment is ideal for individuals who need a high level of care, but don’t require the level of structure and supervision of residential treatment. While recovery happens in community at the centers, separate groups are facilitated for adolescents and adults.
Center For Discovery excels in its comprehensive dietary program including one-on-one dietary sessions, meal planning and preparation support, as well as Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), restaurant experiences, grocery store outings and education, therapeutic meals, nutrition groups and activities. Families and loved ones are involved in the dietary program with dietary education, multifamily meals, and therapeutic family meals with the teams at the outpatient centers.
The outpatient eating disorder programs at Center For Discovery operate Monday through Saturday, bridging the weekend gap with additional support and activities. Also included in the program are weekly sessions with a registered dietitian, individual therapy sessions, and family sessions. A multifamily program is held weekly and provides the opportunity for loved ones to receive education, therapeutic experiential activities, and participate in a multifamily process group. Each outpatient center hosts free weekly Support In Recovery (SIR) groups open to the public.
Center For Discovery’s network of outpatient treatment for eating disorders includes locations in Greenwich, Conn., Houston, Texas, and three locations in California: Beverly Hills, Los Alamitos, and Newport Beach. Locations in San Diego, Calif. Bellevue, WA, Dallas, TX and the San Francisco Bay Area coming soon.
