Xeomin is FDA approved for combatting glabellar wrinkles, but offers additional benefits when compared to conventional Botox treatments.
Summit, New Jersey (PRWEB) September 14, 2015
Ethos Spa, Skin and Laser Center has today announced the addition of a third alternative to Botox treatment for alleviating age lines and wrinkles – Xeomin. It will join the company’s line of high quality, highly effective anti-aging treatment options, which also includes Dysport and Botox.
“At Ethos Spa, Skin and Laser Center, we believe in offering our patients the most effective treatment options available,” stated Dr. Hardik Soni, MD, the company’s medical director and owner. “Xeomin is FDA approved for combatting glabellar wrinkles, but offers additional benefits when compared to conventional Botox treatments.”
Xeomin is based on the same ingredient as Botox, botulinum toxin A. Unlike Botox, however, it does not need to be refrigerated to prevent deterioration, which offers distribution and application enhancements. In addition, there are no other additives in Xeomin, which may reduce the chance of patients developing antibodies to the neurotoxin.
The human body naturally produces antibodies in response to foreign invaders and substances (including toxins, viruses, and more), and could theoretically prevent the treatment from having the desired effect of reducing lines and wrinkles.
In terms of onset and duration, Xeomin begins to take effect within a single week. Results from the treatment should last between three and six months depending on the patient. Both of these are comparable with Botox treatment.
In addition, Xeomin can be utilized for treating other conditions, including cervical dystonia and blepharospasm (involuntary closure of the eyelid), offering patients a new solution for treating their health concerns.
“We strive to ensure that our patients have the safest, most effective treatments, whether they’re interested in facial rejuvenation and anti-aging, or treating a more serious condition,” Dr. Soni added.
