Don Sebastiani & Sons announces plan to expand New Product Development into non-wine products. Early 2016 the company will roll out ultra-premium tequilas, specialty bottled water infused with the essence of varietal wine juice and healthy all-natural flavored dry-roasted nuts.

Don Sebastiani & Sons today announced its plan to expand New Product Development into categories complementary to its well-established wine business.

“In addition to the recent successful development and launch of Custard Sonoma Valley Chardonnay, as well as constant improvements of our existing wine portfolio, we wanted to create items that will both expand our reach as a family and a company and also give us additional tools with which we can support and grow our wine distribution. With our continued commitment and success in the wine industry, we aim to offer products to complement the overall consumer experience” announced Donny Sebastiani, President and CEO.

Work is already under way to launch the company’s very first non-wine products. Beginning early 2016, Don Sebastiani & Sons will roll out ultra-premium tequilas, specialty bottled water infused with the essence of varietal wine juice, and healthy all-natural flavored dry-roasted nuts. In typical Sebastiani fashion, they have chosen a non-traditional and unexpected trademark for the specialty nuts: “U Gottabee Nutz.”

For four generations, the spirit of innovation has pushed the Sebastiani family beyond wine. Donny Sebastiani noted, “My great-grandfather Samuele farmed artichokes, cabbage and later opened up the Sebastiani Cannery, where he canned local fruits and vegetables here in Sonoma. Many still remember – and some still actively use – my Grandmother Sylvia’s published cookbook, Mangiamo! Let’s Eat, one of the first of its kind. In the ‘80s, my Dad imported Olive Oil from Tuscany; and my sister Mia began making pasta sauces, olive oils and balsamic vinegar just a few years ago.”
