People who suffer from sensitive teeth do not have to undergo an invasive surgery to experience relief. During Dental Hygiene Month this October, Allen Huang, DMD, and Jeffrey A. Wang, DDS, are promoting the benefits of the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique, a method of treating receding gums in Las Vegas, NV, that does not involve incisions or stitches. Their training and certifications allow them to provide this unique procedure to restore the gum line, in as little as one short office visit.

Gum recession is prevalent with aging, due to delicate tissues deteriorating from the roots of teeth, altering the appearance of the smile. Sensitive teeth, caused by exposed roots, may lead individuals to avoid any contact from hot, cold, or sweet foods and drinks or stimuli. The gaps between the gums and the teeth grow in depth with recession, allowing bacteria to accumulate below the surface, where it cannot be easily removed by brushing and flossing alone. This often results in gum disease and decay, increasing the risks for poor oral health.

The treatment most dentists recommend, for receding gums in Las Vegas, NV, is a painful gum grafting surgery. Tissue is cut from elsewhere in the mouth and stitched over the exposed root, where it integrates with the gums over a period of four to eight weeks. Instead of utilizing tissue grafts, Drs. Huang and Wang perform the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique with a specially-designed tool that creates a tiny hole in the gums above the affected area, loosening the tissue. The gum line is guided back into place accordingly, immediately providing relief for sensitive teeth. Up to ten teeth can be treated in an hour using this method, with collagen that maintains gum stability, stimulating new tissue growth for a rapid recovery.

Anyone suffering from receding gums in Las Vegas, NV, can take the opportunity during Dental Hygiene Month to achieve oral health, without undergoing painful procedures. Information about the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique is available at the Significance Dental Specialists website.
