Sellers Dorsey announced today that General Counsel and Senior Consultant, Fran Grabowski, was invited to present at the American Association of Public Welfare Attorneys Annual Conference, which is scheduled to take place in Seattle, Washington, November 8 - 11, 2015. Grabowski, a former Deputy Chief Counsel with the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel, Department of Public Welfare, has extensive experience on issues relating to Federal and State Medicaid statutes, regulations, and policies, including, Medicaid provider tax requirements, and provider reimbursement, enrollment and participation requirements. AAPWA’s 35th Annual Education Conference in Seattle Washington provides an open forum for state and local agency attorneys to discuss the latest legal issues and challenges facing health and human service systems. The conference sessions will cover issues related to child welfare, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, among other topics.
During her panel session, Fran Grabowski and co-presenters, Julie Weng-Gutierrez, Senior Assistant Attorney General, California Office of Attorney General and Morgan Staines, Assistant Chief Counsel, California Department of Health Care Services, will discuss how CMS June 1, 2015 proposed rulemaking on Medicaid managed care, and the recently adopted federal regulations regarding settings for home and community-based services, will affect States’ Medicaid managed long term services and supports delivery systems. This session entitled Providing Long-Term Care: Impact of New Federal Managed Care and HCBS Setting Regulations will be held on Tuesday, November 10 at 10:15am.
