McCoy’s Building Supply locations in Georgetown and Taylor are partnering with BUY A TREE.CHANGE A LIFE. to sell Christmas trees this holiday season from November 23 through December 19.
In 2012, a church in Homestead, Florida needed a way to raise money for a family who wanted to adopt a child from Ethiopia and BUY A TREE. CHANGE A LIFE. was born. Since then the organization has raised more than $200,000 to help children both globally and locally. One-hundred percent of the profits from tree sales directly benefit children, with fifteen percent helping children in local communities (in this instance Taylor, Georgetown and Round Rock). Eighty-five percent of the proceeds will aid children in Bethlehem, one of the most challenging places in the world.
BUY A TREE. CHANGE A LIFE. trees are premium Fraser Firs, heralded as the best Christmas tree by American voters. The Fraser fir’s needles are soft to the touch and its widely-spaced branches display ornaments beautifully. The trees are almost always a near-perfect pyramid shape, have a lovely fragrance and a rich dark blue-green color.
Participating in the Christmas tree initiative came naturally for McCoy’s, who along with its employees are deeply committed to giving back to the communities where they live, work and serve. McCoy’s mission is to make life “easier and more fulfilling for those who build” whether that means building things with one’s hands or building a better world with one’s heart and the company feels that by partnering with BATCAL, it is able to reach a bigger community than ever before.
BUY A TREE. CHANGE A LIFE. Fraser Firs will be sold at McCoy’s Georgetown location at 100 Leander Road and its Taylor location at 3401 North Main Street. Both stores are open Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm and Saturday from 7am to 5pm. McCoy’s stores are closed on Sunday to allow time for family and worship.
